Odenike is a Nigerian filmmaker and actor.
Her directorial debut, FINE, a short film about mental health, premiered at Nollywood Week Paris in 2019 and was also accepted into the Halifax Mosaic film festival of arts and culture in the same year.
She was a film and theatre actor for several years before she began creating as a writer and director. She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and is a member of the ensemble cast of the critically acclaimed theatre production, “Hear Word!”, which has toured over 10 cities around the world including an off-broadway performance with a 5-star review by the New York times, Harvard University’s American Repertory Theatre and the United Nations CSW ’18.
Odenike co-wrote, directed and produced a one-man play with themes around gender-equality. The play, Whumanizer, was introduced at the Ake book and Arts festival 2019 and was one of the headlining plays at Lagos Theatre festival, 2020.
Odenike currently lives in France and is a member of the Paris International Filmmakers Collective (PIFC).
